Weekend Lift Ticket Deals in the NYC and Philly Area

Updated September 2020

Looking to go snowboarding or skiing on a weekend? Here’s a guide to some of the best deals in the area for daytime skiing and riding on a Saturday or Sunday.

Blue Mountain

Buy in Advance Online and/or Choose a 4-Hour Slot

Blue Mountain offers great deals online if you buy in advance, and these deals start as low as $41 in March and hover around $50 throughout the rest of the winter. This is really exciting, because their standard weekend ticket price is about $100.

Additionally, if you don’t want to risk adverse weather by purchasing far in advance, you can simply opt to get a 4-hour lift ticket any weekend for $79 a session, which amounts to about $20 per hour.

For the best possible savings at Blue Mountain, combine these deals by booking a 4-hour ticket in advance. Though the night tickets offer the ultimate savings, these four-hour slots don’t go higher than $41, allowing you to enjoy four hours in either the morning or the afternoon at only about $8-10 per hour. Note that these deals are being offered at very limited quantities, so it’s best to purchase these tickets early in the season (or in the fall) to make sure you don’t miss out.

Shawnee Mountain

Buy in Advance Online

Shawnee Mountain also offers good deals online if you buy in advance. Their lift tickets cost about $70 per day on weekends, but you will likely be able to find tickets in the $35-50 range online for all-day access, with the best deals in early December and late March. These deals are usually offered in limited quantities, so buy your tickets in advance, but keep in mind that booking in advance means that you risk encountering bad weather, bad conditions, and resort closings.

Tussey Mountain

$48 | 5-Hour Tickets On the Hour

Instead of paying the standard $62, opt for a five-hour ticket for just $48, which comes to less than $10 per hour. The best part is that you can begin your five-hour ticket at the top of any hour.

They also offer a 2-hour ticket for $38, which is perfect for people who only have a limited amount of time, prefer to keep their trips short, or just want to pay less than $40 for a lift ticket.

Elk Mountain

$47 | 4-hour Morning or Afternoon Ticket

Instead of staying from open to close ($72), choose a specific timeslot to save a few dollars at Elk Mountain. Choosing a day ticket (8:30-4:30) or a twilight ticket (12:30 to 10 p.m.) will save you a mere $3 ($69), but bigger savings will come from selecting a four-hour timeslot. Again, the best deals are at night, but choosing either the morning session or afternoon session for $47 is a great deal that will get you on the slopes for about $12 an hour.

Mountain Creek

Buy in Advance Online

Mountain Creek is another mountain that allows you to buy your tickets online and in advance to get a discount. Check November, early December, and March for the best deals, but remember that booking far in advance is always risky. If you like skiing or riding at Mountain Creek, you should also consider purchasing their 3-Pack for the most savings and flexibility.

Thunder Ridge

$52 | 4 hours, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The typical cost for an adult weekend ticket at Thunder Ridge is $59, but you can purchase a half-day pass instead for $52 that will give you slope access from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. That’s a pretty small savings, but if you like to sleep in, then this is probably the way to go, because you’ll save a few bucks and still get in a full 4 hours on the slopes at only $13 per hour.

Big Snow

$35 | 2 Hours of Your Choice | Standard Rate

Big Snow at the American Dream Mall offers 2-hour lift tickets for $35, which brings the cost to about $18 per hour. This is the cost no matter when you go.

This is the cheapest way to get on the slopes that is available any time (even in summer!), so it’s worth including for that reason alone.

Ski Big Bear

$54 | 3.5 hour Morning Ticket

Instead of paying $64 to stay all day, get the morning ticket, valid from 9 a.m. to 12:30 for $54, which comes to about $15 per hour on the slopes.

Tip: If you’re concerned that 3.5 hours isn’t enough time on the slopes for you, then we recommend paying the extra ten dollars for the full price ticket so you can just enjoy your day without worrying about what time it is.

Windham Mountain

$66 | 3 hours, Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The standard cost of a weekend lift ticket at Windham Mountain is $98, but with their Sunday Matinee discount, you will be able to hit the slopes on any (non-holiday Sunday) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for $66. That comes out to $22 per hour, which isn’t too bad for a mountain this size. Just keep in mind that you’re only getting three hours here, which could be too short for some people.
